Our School and Our Mandate
Keyboard Ventures Music School was first established in 1992 in the response to the growing awareness to make playing music fun with modern techniques and styles. Music was evolving, as were it’s means, such as the advancements made in keyboards and digital pianos, and the application of computers.
Our commitment is to provide lessons that are customized to suit your needs and keep you or your child interested. The traditional lessons with the teacher, the student and one or two course books is a scene of the past.
We believe that lessons should be stimulating, motivating, challenging and even exciting. We understand that it is difficult to learn when one is bored or confined, which is the reason why many students leave music shortly after starting.
That is why our programs are structured to introduce you to the basic fundamentals of music, while at the same time teaching songs that you will enjoy, songs you recognize, music that you will want to learn and play.
We want to expand an understanding of music that touches upon more than notes on a page, but reach the point where music is meant to be exciting and beautiful to play and listen to.
Our Staff
Each student is taught on a one teacher to one student ratio. Because every
student is different, each teacher tries to individualize each program to meet
each student’s individual needs. We also offer group lessons which are taught on
a one teacher to a maximum of 5 students per group ratio. All our teachers at
Keyboard Ventures are highly accredited and experienced in their specially
trained areas of teaching. All of our piano/keyboard teachers have obtained the
minimum requirement or Gr. 8 Royal Conservatory of Music (the pre-requisite for
teaching piano in Manitoba). Our guitar teachers are all highly accredited
teachers, have the training, experience and performing experience in various
areas of guitar; as well as our dance teachers who are also highly accredited,
experienced in various areas in dance and have plenty of performing experience.
Recitals and Rewards
.Public performances are an important part of musicianship. Keyboard Ventures tries to provide venues for our students throughout the school year. We hold 2 recitals per year; our Winter Wonderland Recital in December, and our Annual Awards Recital in June. We realize that it is imperative to recognize our students’ achievements and reward them for their hard work and dedication.

-Learn from the most popular music courses (Bastien & Alfred)
-30 minutes a week, once a week
(on set day and time)
-Enforces fundamentals of note reading, learning dynamics and expression
signs, rhythm and counting, and all general aspects in music applications
-RCM courses for advanced students
-Preparation for RCM exams
-Theory taught
-Computer theory and board games for younger beginner students
-Free supplementary music, latest popular songs

Guitar

In studio or in-home lessons
Drum Lessons
- We now offer drum lessons in studio
- Our new instructor also teaches other rhythmic instruments, including
congas, bongos, etc.
- 1 on 1 basis maximizes your child’s time with the instructor
School of Rock
- If you want to join a band, this is the program for you
- Must have previous training in chosen instrument
- You will learn to write your own songs and music
- Sessions are 1 hour once a week
Other Courses
-Keyboard Ventures also offers theory classes for RCM examinations, including harmony & history.
In-Home or In-Studio Lessons
Keyboard Ventures offers you the option of taking piano, keyboard, guitar and theory lessons in either your home, or in our studio; which ever suits your needs best.
Voice lessons and dance are only available in our studio.
In-home lessons may be more convenient for your hectic schedule or if you don’t have ready access to a vehicle. You will be able to learn all the features of your instruments, and you may feel more comfortable in the comfort of your own home.
On the other hand, in-studio lessons offer a more structured environment with the added benefits of the most up-to-date in keyboard technology, recording and microphone equipment, and computer software resources.
